TOPE FAMILY PAGE

    Jacob Tope, son of Frederick Tope and Elizabeth Grammer, was born in 1796 in Russellville, Warren County, Kentucky, and died in Illinois. He married Elizabeth Fisher, who was born in 1801 [note 1].
Jacob and Elizabeth had 11 children:

1. Barbara Tope born in 1819 in Illinois.
   
2. Matilda Tope born in 1822 in Illinois, and married Anton Dozier on 13 October 1849 in Monroe County, Illinois [note 2].
   
3. George Washington Tope
   
4. Andrew Tope was born in in 1826. He was killed 21 September 1847 in Tampico, Mexico during the Mexican War.
   
5. Nancy F. Tope
   
6. James F. Tope was born in 1829, died in January 1876 and married Mary Armintha Gorden, daughter of Lavern Gorden and Nancy Lindsley, on 5 February 1857 Jackson County, Illinois.
   James and Mary had 2 children:
   
   1. Edward Tope was born in or about 1860 in Grandtower, Jackson County, Illinois, married --- Brand.
   2. Nettie Tope was born in about 1862 in Jackson County, Illinois.
7. Moses G. Tope was born in 1832.
   
8. Rebecca Tope was born in 1835 and married Thomas McLaughlin on 9 January 1853 Madison County, Illinois.
   
9. Delilah Tope was born in 1836 in Madison County, Illinois, and married Nathan Miles on 10 August 1851 in Union County, Illinois.
   
10. William K. Tope ws born in 1839 in Illinois.
