Harry Tope, son

James Harvey Tope and
Lavica
Moore, was born 24 July 1889 in Rockwood,
Randolph
Co., Illinois [
note 1], and
died 20 July 1984 in Jefferson,
Indiana [
note 2].
Harry Tope and Harold Tope were twins. Harry married Mabel
Carrie Coats Miller, daughter of
Payton
Layfette Coats,
and
Minerva Hart, on 12
October 1922 in
Lilbourn, New
Madrid Co., Missouri. Mabel was born
in Hartsville, Pope Co.,
Illinois,
and died 3
December 1978 in Flora, Carroll Co., Indiana. She is buried in Mounds
Cemetery,
Lilbourn, New Madrid
Co., Missouri.
Mabel's first marriage was to Corliss
Yeaman Miller on 8 September 1913 [
note 3].
Corliss was born 24 June 1893 in College Corner, Union Co.,
Indiana, and died 22 July 1918 in College Corner, Butler Co., Ohio.
(note: College Corner lies in Indiana and Ohio.) Mabel and
Corliss had one child, Emma Katherine Miller, born 11 July 1914 in
Lilbourn, New Madrid Co., Missouri.
Harry
and Mabel were associated with the Baptist church. Harry was a preacher
and also worked as a
butcher.
Mabel worked as a telephone swtchboard operator
and grocery
clerk.

Harry and Mabel had four children:
- Mary Lee Tope was born
in Lilbourn, New Madrid Co., Missouri. She married Ray
Allan Pollock, son of Columbus Pollock and Miriam Castleberry.
- Charles Alvin Tope was born
in Catron, New Madrid Co., Missouri. He married Laverne
Warnecke, daughter of Elisha Claude Warneke and Audred Arlene Bryant.
- Nellie Delores Tope was born
in Earle, Crittenden Co., Arkansas. She married Austin
Dale Maddux, son of Clark Maddux and Sylvia Lucile Douglas.
Delores and Dale are home missionaries.
- Harriet Ann Tope
was born
in Parkin, Cross Co., Arkansas. She married Cleo Woods, son
of Claud Neal Woods and Lela Frances Allen. Harriet is a
school teacher and Cleo is in the Air Force Reserves and works for
Civil Service.
