George
Tope, son of Frederick
Tope and Elizabeth Ann
Grammer [note 1], was born in 1816 in Illinois
and died 16 April 1845 in Jackson Co., Illinois. He married Easter
Lindsey, daughter of Caleb
Lindsey and Rebecca Green, about 1834 in Jackson
Co., Illinois. Easter was born in 1813 in Warren Co., Kentucky and died
in 1898 in Jackson Co., Illinois [note 2]. After George died,
Easter married Green
Coleman by whom she had two children, and then William Stearns by whom
she had one
child.
George and Easter had five children:
- Elizabeth
Tope.
- Charlotte Tope
born in 1837, in Jackson Co., Illinois. She first married Franklin Bays
and later married Harrison Hutchins.
- Sarah Tope born
1840 in Jackson Co., Illinois.
- Frederick Tope
born in 1842, died 1 June 1862. He married Nancy
Ann Cripps on 19 January 1859 in Jonesboro, Union Co.,
Illinois.
- John Tope born
in 1843.
