    Chloe Elizabeth Tope, daughter of  George Washington Tope and Catherine Spears, was born 9 June 1863 in Rockwood, Randolph Co., Illinois  [note 2], and died 10 March 1932 in Lincoln, Logan Co., Illinois; buried in Evergreen Cemetery, Chester, Randolph Co., Illinois [note 3]. She married Jacob Marion Tindall, son of John Dean Tindall and Amanda Helen Barnes [note 4], on 3 May 1888 in Chester, Randolph Co., Illinois [note 5].
    Jacob was born 19 July 1859 in Rockwood, Randolph Co., Illinois the third of nine children [note 6]; date and place of death unknown. Jacob received his higher education in the Illinois Normal School, and taught in the Randolph schools for three years, while also farming.   After teaching, he turned to farming, and also served as Randolph County Treasurer and one time as Court Clerk [note 7].

Chloe and Jacob had four children:

1. Eva Tindall
2. Harry D. Tindall (twin to Carrie)
3. Carrie Tindall (twin to Harry)
4. ? Tindall died in infancy.
